Partners is a National Lottery-funded initiative giving communities with little experience of the arts new opportunities to engage with professional artists.
The artists are based and work in collaboration with, the Step Up Project and Bute Healthy Living Initiative.
Each of the Artists have their own specialist art form. As part of the residency, the artists will work in a community setting for around 50% of their residency and spend the remainder developing their own work.
All the artists will be living in town,
based at Longhill Learning & Resource Centre
but will work out in the community with
community groups.

Kelly Boucher is an Australian printmaker and arts educator. She designs innovative programs and hands on art workshops for children and adults alike, encouraging the use of the arts as an inclusive and cross disciplinary learning tool. As a practicing artist her research interests include investigating the relationship between memory, object and place, as well as the stories, recollections and narratives such objects evoke.
Judy Parrott is a photographer and sound recording artist. She uses this medium to explore how we interact with our physical environment and to lookat how this affects our feeling of belonging and thus our immediate and long term well-being.
Jaki Trolove is a visual artist. She has a strong interest in community based projects and often works with groups of non-artists to find creative ways of communicating concerns, of celebrating or of exploring ideas through a visual practice.
The Partners programme is co-ordinated by David Brown who is employed by the Step Up Project and based at Longhill Learning & Resource Centre. David would be happy to help with more information on any of the Artists or enquiries about the programmes/workshops that are on offer you can contact him
